The passage that really went WOAH to me was 2 Corinthians 4:4, where it says that the people of this world are BLINDED so that they cannot see the glory of God. Now this really stuck with me because it is not that they do not want to see the glory, but because they simply can't because of the things of this world. This just told me that if we are so focused on worldly things, such as beauty, fashion, celebrity gossip, having the best this and that, being the most popular, being glued to our computer and phone (guilty here), even if we wanted to get closer to God, we won't be able to simply because we are distracted by these other things. The cellphone will blind us and keep us away from quality time with God. The beauty industry will blind us and keep us away from thinking of ourselves as beautiful children of God, perfect in His eyes. And it will go on. It is up to ourselves to be different, set apart, and the light so that we can see the glory of God.
I'm hopefully gonna start to get physically decent again, I went hiking yesterday at Villa Montalvo and today with Annie to Hunters Point. Though these were easy hikes, its a start! I was talking with David yesterday night at fellowship and we think that once our whole team is here, we should all go to Mission Peak and train our endurance! :)
